SCIL Celebrates 25th Year with New Cohort

Durward’s Glen (September 22, 2023) – Twenty local residents and leaders kicked off the 25th year of the Sauk County Institute of Leadership (SCIL) at a leadership retreat. The retreat, held at Durward’s Glen Retreat Center on Thursday, September 14th and Friday, September 15th, served as the initial team building event.  Individuals introduced themselves and shared their leadership story along with what they expect to learn from their SCIL experience.

This retreat served as a platform for participants to build connections, bridging a variety of experience levels from a diverse subset of local Wisconsin industries. Discussions included what it means to be a leader,  how to improve individual and group leadership skills and personality/temperament preferences. Challenges included physical team-based activities to further reinforce teamwork principles.

SCILsters, as named by course leader Morgan McArthur, will work to refine their leadership skills during monthly sessions though May 2024. SCILsters will be challenged over the next eight months to open their minds to different leadership ideas presented by Sauk County leaders and businesses.
